Sue Piercey
Heart & Hustle Award
The Bow View Board of Directors presents this award annually to an association member who embodies Bow View‘s core values and has shown courage and determination in putting themselves out there to get things done. This award honours Sue Piercey’s commitment and dedication to our ringette family.
Sue Piercey has been a member of the Bow View family for more than 13 years and coached her daughter every season. She also served on the Bow View Board of Directors for 8 years as VP Finance. Sue is a steady participant in our Come Try Ringette Events, the first to offer her time and expertise in our evaluation process and has been the engine behind our annual Jingle Ring Tournament. Sue also dedicates her time to the Esso Golden Ring Tournament Committee and the Ringette Calgary Board of Directors. Her passion, commitment and dedication are honoured through this award.
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our association. As a non profit organization we depend on people to donate their time and energy to set the policies, create the procedures, manage the administration, arrange the evaluations, draft the teams, coach and mentor the players, manage the teams, raise the funds, manage the funds, plan the tournaments, organize the volunteers, help minor official and at the same time fill the stands with cheers and support while ferrying our players from rink to rink! Each one of our families volunteers their time to make our association strong, but there are some who go over and above the basic requirements to ensure outstanding ringette seasons year over year. Bow View thanks all those who go above and beyond to make each season fun and exciting for our ringette players!
