FULL ICE- if only your team is listed and no visitor team is listed then your practice is full ice
SHARED ICE for the entire time slot- if a team is listed in the visitor spot with a capital S before the team name then you are sharing the entire time slot with that team
CROSS OVER SHARED ICE - (each team gets 15 minutes of full ice and shares in the middle for 45 minutes)- if a visitor team is listed with x15e or x15s before the team name it means Bow View‘s time slot is 75 minutes but your team’s portion of ice is 60 minutes total and the other team’s portion of ice is 60 minutes total.x15e in the visitor slot means YOUR TEAM has 15 minutes of full ice at the END “e” of your time slot
x15s in the visitor slot means YOUR TEAM has 15 minutes of full ice at the START “s” of your time slot
Example 1: If your time slot is 8:15-9:15am and the visitor spot says x15e CBV Northstars it means your team gets on the ice at 8:15 (CBV Northstars will have already been on full ice for their 15 minutes), you will share ice for 45 minutes and CBV Northstars will get off at 9:00 and you will have the last 15 minutes full ice.
Example 2: If the visitor spot says x15s the situation is reversed. Your team still gets on at 8:15am but your team has 15 minutes of full ice then 45 minutes shared with the other team. Your team leaves the ice at 9:15am and the other team has 15 minutes of full ice.
PLEASE NOTE: The dressing room notification boards at the arenas do not account for our 75 minute sharing mechanism. Typically the board at the arena for these 2 examples would say 8:00-9:15am or 8:15-9:30am and list 2 team names. Our crossover ice as shown in your team schedule, however, will only be one hour of that- which is why you need to be able to read the Bow View ice schedule properly.Once in awhile a 75 minute time slot may be fully shared for 75 minutes with no full ice for either team. A 75 minute time slot should never have one team getting 15 minutes of full ice without the other team also getting 15 minutes of full ice. If you see this please email ice@bowviewringette.com for clarification.
